Chapter 1
Going to a BDSM club had become a regular thing for Addison Tyler. As she walked up to the plain brick building, she adjusted her black lace mask, checking to make sure it was in place. The soft material against her face sent a small tingle of excitement through her system. The mask transformed her from a bookish therapist to a mysterious vixen. Sometimes, it was fun not to be herself.
The sound of stiletto heels echoed down the small alleyway as she approached the building. There was no sign out front. A heavy metal door stood at the center of the square brick structure. A single guard was perched on a bar stool.
The moment she came into view, he stood, crossing his arms. The sleeves of his black jacket were barely able to contain the muscles underneath. “Can I help you?” A simple question, but the deep, sharp tone in his voice caused her to pause mid-step, almost questioning whether or not she should be here.
Squaring her shoulders, she held her chin high knowing that this particular guard couldn’t stop her. “Addison Tyler, here to see Jerimiah Row.”
The guard nodded and spoke into the small radio in his oversized grip. “I have a Ms. Tyler here to see the boss.” He pressed his finger to his ear and listened to the brief reply before opening the door behind him. Returning his focus to Addison, he grumbled, “Go to the hostess desk. They will direct you where to go.”
“Thanks,” she said as she marched passed the gorilla goon with her trench coat wrapped tightly around her.
The narrow corridor was dimly lit with sporadic recessed lighting. The crimson carpet seemed to rise up to meet her feet as her heels dug into it with each step. She sucked in a deep breath to calm herself. It wasn’t as if she’d never been here before, but she got nervous all the same. Nearly all of her research was completed, so this would be one of the last, if not the last, trip here. As she approached the desk, she spotted Jerimiah. The man was not what Addison would have pictured a sex club owner to look like. He was average height, slightly chubby and nearly completely bald, but his Armani black pinstripe suit was tailored to perfection and hid his weight well.
As Addison came closer, he came out from behind the tall hostess stand, extending his hand toward her. “Doc, it’s so good to see you.”
Addison’s nerves disappeared the moment Jerimiah started talking. His voice held the same patient tone that reminded her of her grandfather. “Jerry, thank you for letting me come back again.”
He smiled warmly, took her coat and handed it to the hostess. “Oh, anything to help you.” He offered her his arm as if he were escorting her to a ball rather than a private room used mainly for voyeurs. “After what you did for my wife and me, I can’t thank you enough.”
She grinned. Hearing how she helped her patients never got old. “I didn’t do anything. You two did all the work. How is Edith?”
“Insatiable.” He chuckled lightly as they strolled down another corridor that led to an open bar area where many of the patrons were focused on the small circular stage in the middle of the room.
Two dancers contorted around each other, moving their limbs fluidly as they touched and rubbed one another to the beat of the music. Each movement was perfectly timed with the next. The man would run his hand down his partner’s stomach, spread her legs wide and delve a finger deep into her. It was a tangled ballet. Nothing like porn—this was emotional, powerful and alluring. Addison could feel the soft music vibrate through her body. Like watching a sensual tango for the first time, her attention was completely captured.
The man reached down and grasped the woman’s leg, guiding it upward until she was in a standing split—an impossible move for someone untrained. He grabbed his thick, heavy cock and started to guide himself into his partner. The room went silent as each patron froze in place, watching intently. As he spun them around in a slow circle, her legs moved, gliding to settle around his hips. With every slow beat, he pumped into her. As his cock slid in and out, Addison could see it wet with arousal.
“Lovely, isn’t it?” Jerry’s words pulled her back from the dancing fantasy. She hadn’t even noticed she’d stopped moving to look at the entangled pair.
Nodding politely, she allowed Jerry to continue escorting her toward the door at the back of the main room. “That was beautiful.”
Large chandeliers hung over the main area where the acts rotated around the room. Enormous windows lined the walls. Some were lit, while others were dark. None of them had a view of outside. Each window peered into a small room with a different fetish being played out. As Addison passed, she noted all the different things being shown. A larger man on his back, his eyes rolling around in his head as a woman pressed her toes into his face. Each time her foot flexed, he sighed, stroking his erection. The next room held two people dressed in full animal costumes. Judging by the floppy ears and wagging tongues, Addison would guess they were dogs, with only their genitals exposed. The “male dog” pushed the female to the ground and climbed onto her back. With rough, swift movements, he shoved himself into her. Laying his body out over her back, he began to pump wildly, throwing his head back as he howled like a wolf seeing the moon for the first time. Had the sound been on for that room, Addison was sure she would’ve heard skin slapping together, growling, barking and howling. Turning away, she’d not been captivated by the dogs like she was the dancers. They don’t call it doggy style without good reason. Addison continued to allow Jerry to steer her toward the back of the room.
Jerry smiled at the patrons warmly as he passed, nodding to each of them i
n acknowledgement. Once they reached the door, gorilla goon number two opened it allowing them to travel down yet another corridor. This area was different than the rest of the club. Dark gray carpet ran the length of the hall, sconces were warmly lit, barely bright enough to illuminate a small area. It was a place where people could get lost in the shadows.
They passed door after door; Jerry’s smile never faltered. “I’m going to put you into a viewing room at the end of the hall. Is that okay with you?”
It felt as though they’d walked in a circle, the hall continually bending around until they came to a stop in what felt like the same place they’d begun. “Yes, more than okay. My research is nearly complete, so I won’t be inconveniencing you for much longer.”
He patted her hand. “No inconvenience, Doc. You come here as often as you like.” He opened the door to her viewing room.
“I’ll send in one of the girls to take your drink order.”
Addison smiled with a nod of thanks as he stepped into the hall, closing the door behind him. The room was about the size of a small office or a spacious walk in closet, if you were a New York socialite. Two large, ornate chairs covered with dark red velvet cushions sat facing an enormous mirror. Only a small table stood between the mirrors and the throne-like chairs. Addison knew from experience that the mirror was only one-way, and though people couldn’t see her, she could see them on the other side. The dark window meant that the scene had yet to begin. Unlike the large windows in the main area, this mirror was nearly the size of the entire wall and framed with simple black woodwork.
Addison settled herself into one of the chairs. Allowing her purse to drop to the ground, she bent over pulling her note pad and pen from it. Light classical music piped into the room as she waited for the show. Behind her, the door opened with barely a whisper of noise. Peeking around the back of her chair, she spotted a slender waitress with a silver tray precariously balanced in one hand.
The waitress’ dress was microscopic, with little black, lacy shorts peeking out at the bottom. “Mr. J. says I’m to get whatever refreshments you’d like.”
Addison sighed. She didn’t want to take advantage of Jerry’s hospitality, but she also didn’t want to be rude. “I’ll have a white wine, please.”
The waitress’ dark brown eyes narrowed in annoyance as if it were Addison’s fault she had to do her job. With her hair pulled up into a tight bun, the angles of her face were harsh. Just down right bitchy, actually. “Anything else?” she asked, her tone not even a little friendly.
“No, thanks.” Addison ignored her attitude as the door clicked behind her. What is her problem?
As she opened her note pad to the next clean page, she began doodling in the margins. Once again, the door clicked open quietly. The waitress placed Addison’s drink on the round table next to the arm of the chair. “Is that all?”
Amazing customer service with that attitude. “Do you know when the show will start?”
“I don’t know. Could be five minutes, could be thirty-five.”
Very helpful. “Well, in that case, I’ll take a second glass of wine.”
The waitress scoffed. “You haven’t even finished the first one.” She crossed her arms over her chest, refusing to budge.
What the hell is her problem?
Addison smiled snidely and downed her beverage in three large gulps. “Better go fetch that drink. I’ll take a water as well.”
With wide eyes, the waitress took the empty glass, spun toward the door and swept out in a flutter of agitation. Leaning back into the plush chair, Addison’s body felt heavy, relaxed and slower. She’d officially given herself a good buzz with one glass of wine. Light weight, much?
Once again, the door flew open. It had only been a few moments since the waitress left. Addison sighed. “If you spit in my drink, I swear—”
A deep masculine chuckle filled the room. Startled, Addison jumped out of her chair and spun around, her heart racing. Inky black hair fell into his dusky emerald eyes in a mess of waves. He had that just-got-fucked look that begged to get it again. His masculine scent filled the room, a heady mix of the fresh outdoors and whiskey. When their eyes met, Addison’s heart kicked into overdrive, sending sparks of electricity down her spine. A warm, wet sensation swarmed her lower body; she realized with a start that she was aroused. It had been so long she’d forgotten what that felt like. Adrenaline flooded her system as the stranger stood eyeing her like he was trying to decide the best way to devour her. Random images of all the naughty things she’d do to a man like this flashed through her mind.
“I’m sorry, but this room is taken,” she said with a voice steadier than she felt.
“So I see.” He flashed a white smile worthy of GQ magazine. The sound of his deep, gravelly voice glided over her skin like velvet. “But what I can’t figure out is why a woman as beautiful as yourself would be here alone.”
Addison couldn’t decide what was more breathtaking—his full lips begging to be sucked and bitten, or the five o’clock shadow dusting his strong jaw line. Her hands shook as she fought the impulse to reach out and touch him. She leaned toward him, teetering on the edge of nervous and sexual attraction. Her quivering body reacted instantly to his presence, his appeal drawing her in like a poisonous flower.
“I thought what people did in this club was their own business,” she challenged, trying not to get distracted by the way his navy blue suit hugged his broad shoulders.
With legs that went on for days, he stepped farther into the room, forcing her to raise her eye to his towering height. “Touché, but when I saw you walk in with the owner, I couldn’t help but wonder who you were. So I said to myself, ‘Self, you’ve got to meet this creature that captured the attention of every man in the room,’ so here I am.” He spread his arms wide as if presenting her with a present. The movement caused his white shirt to tug open at the collar, exposing the barest hint of flesh. Smooth skin meant for her lips and nibbling teeth taunted her.
For some reason, she felt no threat from him. He seemed simple and open. Long ago, she swore never to pick up men in a bar. One would think that a sex club was worse. She hesitated, uncertain of what to do or say next to the beautiful stranger. “Well, it’s very nice to meet you but…”
The waitress barged into the room, looking none too happy as she glanced from Addison to the mystery man. “Here’s your wine.” She placed it on the table, spilling some of the contents before turning to the gorgeously fuckable man. The water Addison requested was nowhere in sight. She smiled sweetly, batting her eyelashes. “Can I get you anything? Anything at all?”
“No, that’ll be all,” he answered coolly. “As long as my girlfriend here is taken care of, we will be fine.” With a casual stroll, he closed in on Addison, putting his arm around her shoulders. “Right, honey?”
“Um, right?” What the hell was she supposed to say in this situation? Clearly more was going on here than she knew.
The waitress pointed from Addison to the man. “You two are together?”
“Yes, we are,” he answered quickly, squeezing Addison a few times to accentuate his point. “Right?”
Suddenly, Addison knew exactly what was going on. This little waitress had been giving Mr. Sex Pot the full-court press, which he was attempting to dodge. “Yes, yes we are.” Picking up her glass of wine, she took a large sip. “If you don’t want anything, I think she can run along. Wouldn’t you agree?”
Addison looked up at him with a warm smile knowing the waitress was standing there, jaw-slacked.
Not taking his eyes off of Addison, he smiled mischievously. “I agree completely.” Without further conversation, the girl turned and was out the door in seconds.
As soon as the door shut, he pulled his arm off of Addison and dropped into one of the chairs with a sigh. “Thanks. No was not an answer she wanted to hear.”
“Seems that one is a big fan of yours.” She slid into the other chair and crossed her legs, her fingers fiddli
ng nervously with the hem of her too-short leather skirt. Silence settled over them as they both sat looking around the room. What was she supposed to do now? It wasn’t as if she was accustomed to handsome men following her into a voyeur room at a sex club. Her eyes leisurely roamed over him, she tried not to appear as nervous as she felt. If only her heart would slow down, she might be able to form a coherent thought.
“After seeing you in the main room and then come in here, I had to meet the beauty who had gotten the attention of all the men in the club. I thought I could get away with slipping in here unnoticed, but she saw me and wouldn’t let me go. I’d hoped if I told her I was taken, she’d back off, but damn, I guess she had to see it with her own eyes.” He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. A few dark waves fell into his eye.
Her fingers twitched with the urge to push those locks out of his face. It’d been so long since she’d touched a man like that, she couldn’t help but wonder what it would feel like to do it to him. Never before had she been so attracted so quickly, and yet still she wanted to hold herself back. “Is that what you thought? That it’d be a good idea to follow a stranger into a private room inside a BDSM club?”
He crossed his ankle over his knee, relaxing into the chair, his wide shoulders resting easily as he oozed masculinity. “Would it win me any bonus points if I said maybe?”
“I didn’t realize we were playing for points.”
As he peeked up at her through heavy-lidded eyes gleaming with mischief, he chuckled. “Everything can be a game.”
“Can it? I was under the impression that when playing a game there had to be two participants and a clear winner, or at least a prize.”
His eyes roamed over her body like a searing iron. She could feel the heat rolling off of him. “It depends on what the goal is.”
“And what was your goal for walking into this room?” Though she tried to appear casual, her muscles where heavy with tension. Could this man be sexier?
