Bound To Me (Leather #1) Page 4

“Well, I wasn’t going to add another notch on my bedpost by fucking a midget penis.” Jenna’s teal tank top rolled up her stomach as her hands flailed with each word. “Like, I was embarrassed for him. I would’ve given him a consolation handy, but I wasn’t carrying my tweezers at the time.” Her laughter filled the room like she’d just said the most hysterical thing and couldn’t help but giggle at her own joke. If the real world were a high school, Jenna was the popular girl who made everyone else feel bad about themselves.

Addison sighed, but Jenna was too preoccupied with her own joke to notice. “A consolation handy?” That poor man.

“Yeah, you know.” Jenna rounded her fingers, making the jerking off motion in the air. “I felt bad for him. He probably can’t have kids with that thing.”

Pushing her dark-rimmed glasses up her nose, Addison glanced at the timer on her desk. Only eight more minutes. “Actually, the micropenis is fully functional.”

“Um, yeah. It’s only function is for show.”

“Studies have shown that men with a micropenis can, in fact, have children. The vaginal canal doesn’t need anything longer than two inches. Yes, a larger man can stimulate more, but some micropenises can penetrate.”

“Well, not this one, Doc. I mean, the most I could do was, like, sit on it.” She sighed and studied her perfectly manicured nails. “It doesn’t matter now. I’ve got my eye on new candy.”

Six minutes. “A new love interest? How do you feel about that?” Let’s try to get some real emotional feelings. For a moment, Addison hoped that Jenna would feel compassion or try to understand people that she deemed imperfect.

  “He’s super sexy and rich.”

Of course, that’s all that matters to her. “Both admirable attributes. How does he feel about you?” Let me guess… you’re super-hot and, like, the perfect trophy wife.

“Well, he doesn’t know I’m interested yet. I just met him last week and pretended to be totally uninterested.” She smoothed her hands down her tight white jeans.

“If you have an interest in this man, why play it down?”

“If you let a man like that know you’re interested right away, you don’t stand a chance. Duh.” She sat up to look Addison in the eye. “Honestly, for, like, the best sex doctor ever, you really don’t know how to play the game.”

Addison smiled as professionally as she could. “I was under the impression that in matters of the heart, games weren’t meant to be played.”

“When you meet a man like Decland Wallace, you pull out every play you have.”

Addison’s heart leapt. Pictures of him naked flashed through her mind. The pen slipped from her hand, falling to the floor. Her hands shook as she reached for it quickly. She cleared her throat hoping her voice came out steadily. “Well, what is it about him that makes you think he will be a good life partner?”

“Hellooooo, weren’t you listening? He’s rich and super-hot. Even if he had a microdick, I’d still do him.”

The alarm on the clock chimed. Addison smacked her hand down, silencing it quickly. “What does he do?” Could be crossing a professional line. Using a patient to get the scoop on the one night stand you had days ago? She inwardly cringed.

Jenna rose to her feet, wiggling as she adjusted her outfit so it sat flawlessly. “Venture capitalist, I think.” She swung her black Prada purse over her shoulder. “But for reals, he’s totes doable.”

Addison stood and walked to the door. “We’ll talk more next week.”

“For sure, I love it here. You’re so good at offering an opinion. And I learn so much. I mean, who would’ve known about mini-wieners?” Jenna shrugged as she walked out the door.

Addison stood in the doorway of her office, waiting for Jenna to leave before she spoke to her receptionist. The moment the door clicked shut, Addison felt herself slump into a more relaxed position.

“Honey, you look like you could use a break.” Jeffrey, her long time personal assistant, said from his desk in the corner of the reception area.

“Tell me about it.” She walked over to the refreshment table and snagged a bottle of water from the mini stainless steel refrigerator perched on top. Cracking the lid, she took a quick sip. “I feel like this day is dragging.” She sighed as she sat in one of the chairs of her empty waiting room. “Is it dragging?”

Jeffrey was typing furiously on his computer as he spoke. “Actually, you’ve had back-to-back appointments. This is your only down time before your next appointment arrives in about…” he glanced at the clock on his computer, “fifteen minutes.”

Jeffrey was a master multi-tasker. Addison had hired and fired five assistants within a two month period before Jeffrey walked through her door declaring he was exactly what she needed. He was a five-foot-ten, perfectly tailored whirlwind of organization. Not to mention a vault when it came to her secrets. That was five years ago. They’d been together ever since.

  “Only fifteen minutes?”

He nodded, never taking his eyes from the screen. “So eat an apple for lunch, and after your next appointment, I’ll order take out.”

“Lifesaver.” She began to stand and walk toward her office.

“I’m sorry, did I say we were done?” he teased, only looking up at her for a moment with a quick smile. His dark brown eyes sparkled with unshed laughter. “We need to go over things.”

Addison was a professional through and through; she just had a serious problem with organization. So she left it up to Jeffrey to handle her schedule, update her social media and make all the patient appointments. He traveled wherever she went—a day at the office, he was there; an appearance on TV, he was backstage telling the makeup artist how to do Addison’s makeup for her TV look. Jeffrey was more than her right arm—he was more like the missing part of her brain. Addison plopped back down in the chair.

“Okay, new patient coming in for your next appointment—” he started.

“Did they fill out all the paperwork?”

“Yes, and I think you’re going to love this new one.”

Addison sighed. “I want to help people who really need it. Not listen to gossip all day.”

“Then this is right up your alley.”

  Addison scoffed. “I’m trusting you.”

“As you should,” he snapped. “I’ve worked very hard at building your reputation, and we only take the good clients.”

“Okay, okay. Give me the file. I’ll take a look in a minute.” I’m not going to look at this.

“You’re not going to look at it. You’re going to say that you will, but you won’t.” He ran a hand through his carefully styled mid-length blond hair. “Honestly, the work I do for nothing.”

Addison laughed. “Like I don’t work hard?”

“Honey, you are the brains of this operation. I am the pizzazz.” He shook his jazz hands to emphasize his point. “Who does your agent call when he needs something? Who do the TV and radio talk shows call to get to you? Who do your patients e-mail with scheduling issues?”

She held her hands up in surrender. “You win, master of ceremonies. You are the center of my world. So, please continue to tell me how it will spin.”

“See, all I need is a little recognition.” He winked playfully. “Okay, so new client, lunch with me. Then two more clients.”

Addison raised her eyebrows. It seemed like the morning had dragged on but her afternoon was looking up.

He plowed on as if she hadn’t given him the skeptical look. “And I just e-mailed you the questions they’ll be asking you on that morning talk show. Please, please, read them and be a little prepared.” He held his hands out in an overly exaggerated begging motion.

Addison scoffed. “I’ll look at them.” She stood and started walking to her office.

  “You won’t.”

  “I will,” she insisted.

“If you don’t, you’ll look stupid,” he called as he threw a pen toward the door.

Dodging the pen, she giggled. “P
eople like my off-the-cuff answers. It’s fun.”

“No, you just think they do.”

“I’m awesome at interviews.” She smiled.

“I bet you won’t read the questions or the new patient file. What do I get if you don’t?” He swung around in his chair to face her in the doorway.

“Pedies on me?” she asked, knowing that he loved a good pedicure.

“Deal.” He spun back around toward his computer, waving a dismissive hand toward her. “You can go now.”

  “Well, thank you for that.”

  “You’re welcome.”

“Ugh, you’re such a bitch sometimes,” Addison teased as she started to shut the door.

The last thing she heard before the door clicked shut was, “You like it.”

  Chapter 4

That coveted fifteen minute break was over before she knew it, and Jeffrey was buzzing her office. Addison answered it quickly. “Hello.”

“Dr. Tyler, your one o’clock appointment is here.”

  “Very good. Send her in.”

She could hear him cupping his hand around the phone, speaking low. “You just bought me a pedi.”

  “What?” she giggled.

“Your next appointment is a he. A tall, dark and gorgeous he.”

“So when are we going for midnight pedies?” She sighed, knowing that Jeffrey had predicted yet again exactly what she would do—or wouldn’t do, as was the case.

“I’ll check the schedule and let you know. Now I’m going to show in tall, dark and yummy.”

She laughed as she hung up the phone, tossed her glasses on her desk and rubbed her eyes as she walked around the desk to greet her newest client. Jeffrey opened the door with wide chocolate eyes as he mouthed a dramatic “Oh, my God.” Clearing his throat, he turned and motioned for the man behind him to come into the office. “Right this way, Mr.Wallace.”

Addison froze, her blood like ice in her veins. Her eyes went wide as her heart stopped in her chest. How could he have found me? Her mouth dropped open as he walked into her office looking like something out of a wet dream.

Decland stood before her, his bright green, smoldering eyes looking her up and down. “Nice to meet you. I’m Decland Wallace.” He extended his hand out to her.

It was like she was in her worst nightmare or hottest sexual fantasy. She didn’t know what to do. Her body didn’t want to move; her hands were stuck at her sides. This delicious piece of man who had demanded she come in his lap, was standing in her office. Jeffrey elbowed her, jarring her from her shocked state. Mechanically, she extended her hand. “Addison Tyler.”

His large, gentle hand swallowed hers completely. The warmth of his grasp triggered memories from just days before. She thought about where those hands had been: her breasts, her backside, holding her legs up while he drove into her. Shaking herself, she put her professional mask in place.

“Thank you for finding a time to see me. Your assistant, Jeffrey,” he nodded at Jeffrey, “well, he was incredibly helpful.” The deep timbre of his voice rolled over her skin like ice running over hot flesh. Addison could see Jeffrey’s visible swoon as Decland said his name.

“Oh, any time.” Jeffrey smiled brightly.

He stood there transfixed on Decland completely unaware of the awkward silence hanging in the room. Addison cleared her throat. “Jeffrey, thank you for showing Mr. Wallace in.”

“Mmmhhh, my pleasure.” He still didn’t move. Addison was forced to push him toward the doorway. Jeffrey smiled and wave at Decland as he was forced out. “Bye.”

The deep chuckle that came from behind Addison as she closed the door caused goose bumps to break out all over her skin. The memory of that delicious voice washed over her as waves of desire ignited her from the inside out. She turned, wondering if he recognized her from the club. As he unbuttoned his black pinstriped suit jacket and sat back on the couch, she knew he didn’t. I can do this. He doesn’t know it was me, therefore, no problem. It could turn into a very big problem if he ever found out.

The safest thing to do was to go into her professional mode and find out what exactly he was doing here. Perhaps he needed her help, although based on her still aching lady bits, she couldn’t see him having any performance problems. She grabbed her pen and pad off the desk, then slid into her own dark leather chair. She crossed her legs. The aching she’d been enjoying just moments ago seemed to shoot up her body. Her inner muscles clenched, like her body knew this was the one who could give her exactly what she needed. He sat looking at her. She could feel his eyes piercing into her as he ran his hand through that dark just-fucked hair. Clearing her throat, she clicked her pen. “Mr. Wallace, what brings you to my office today?”

He spread his arms over the back of her leather couch as he crossed his ankle over his knee. “I’ve been to quite a few therapists.”

Great, I’ve fucked a psycho. “And was there a particular reason you left them? Did you find them unhelpful?”

“It’s hard to explain.” He uncrossed his legs and sat forward, his elbows resting on his knees, his hair falling into his eyes.

“I’m here to listen. But let’s start off with something easy.” He nodded, sitting back once more. Clearly, he was uncomfortable. Addison continued, “What do you do for a living?”

“I’m a venture capitalist. Essentially, I am the CEO of a few companies. I discover new ideas and find the funding to start the companies.”

“Do you enjoy what you do?”

A wide smile spread across his chiseled face. “Yes, very much.”

“How about your family? Are they part of your life?”

“I have two wonderful parents and three brothers. Two older and one younger.”

“And what about your childhood? Were there any experiences that stand out to you that’d you’d like to talk about?”

He sighed as if he were annoyed. Addison looked up from her notes to find him looking at her as if she’d done something to disappoint, his lips in a hard line. Dropping her pen into her lap, she sat back and returned his direct stare. “Nothing you’d like to mention?”

“Look, I can tell you this. I do not have mommy issues, I was not touched inappropriately, my family are good people and my childhood rocked. So if you think my issues stem from childhood, you’d be wrong.”

“That’s all well and good. But can I ask what brought that on? I didn’t suggest that there were issues with your childhood.” Her legs rubbed together as she uncrossed and re-crossed them. His eyes were immediately drawn to them; she thought that he would reach out and touch them. When he averted his gaze and looked up at the ceiling, she questioned whether or not he was indeed drawn to her or she was making it up in her head.

“Because every shrink I’ve been to thinks I have mommy issues. And I know I don’t. I’m going to level with you because I don’t believe in beating around the bush.” He looked her in the eye. “I like women, very much. But I have problems committing, and at some point in the future, I’d like to commit.”

What? Clearing her throat she had to hide her surprise. “I’m sorry? You came here because you want to get married?”

He nodded. “The only problem is I can’t seem to pull the trigger. You know?”

“I’m afraid I don’t understand.” Addison squared her shoulders, trying to quash the nervousness she felt. Each second with him was like being on a rollercoaster—at any moment her stomach would drop, and she’d lose her tightly controlled emotions. She took a deep breath, held it briefly then let it out slowly as she focused on his words. He was here for help, and she was hell bent on giving it to him.

“I’ve been in about six long-term relationships. Each lasting for a little over a year. But I get to this point…” He sighed. “And then I get bored. So we break up and the hunt begins.”

“So you like the hunt? Not the actual catch?” Boy, can I pick ’em. Only Addison would be attracted to man who had commitment issues. Though it wasn’t uncommon, she usually saw them
coming from a mile away. Admittedly, she wasn’t looking for more from him when they’d met, but it was still eye-opening that she’d allowed herself to succumb to his many charms.

“Isn’t a beautiful, intelligent woman the best kind of prey?” he asked, all the confidence in the world held in his direct gaze. She couldn’t help but wonder if that’s what he’d seen her as that night… prey.

The question hung heavy in the air between them. Did he know it was her at the club, or was he just this sexy all day long? His quiet manner rolled through the room; he wasn’t a cocky player. No, he was more dangerous than that. He was a wolf in Armani, a panty-ripping, sexually dominant, big-cocked heartbreaker. What made it worse? He actually wanted to make it better, which made him catnip for women in heat. A bad boy with good intentions.

“Perhaps this is a phobia of commitment. There are times when men think that they’re ready for a long term relationship, but when the time comes, it is difficult to let go of past behaviors.” Like one night stands in sex clubs. “And move into a future that doesn’t seem quite as thrilling.”

“Perhaps, or many believe I haven’t found the right one.” He smoothed his thumb over his full lips.

Sexy bastard. “Do you believe that when you’re with a woman you might be missing out on something better? Someone better?”

“I don’t believe in looking for the next best thing. But at some point, I lose interest… sexually.”

“Oh.” Oh? Is that all you can come up with? “There could be many reasons why that happens. In order to figure out what exactly is going on we will have to go through your relationships. Find out what your trigger is.”

He nodded. “That makes sense, but can I ask one favor?”

“Okay. I can’t guarantee anything, though.”

“Can we just establish I haven’t had a fucked up childhood? This will go a lot faster if I don’t have to relive every football game.”

Addison chuckled. “Agreed. We will stick to the current issue and continue to move forward.”
